Personal experiences with ZOHO

THIS POST AS MP3.

After my last post has caught international interest (see the comment) I shall continue writing in English in order to ensure better understanding. Firstly I have to express how much I was indeed surprised getting a comment from one of the technical supporters from ZOHO. There is of course the possibility of a wide interest of any blog, but I hadn’t thought it likely to happen for mine (to be very honest).

Let’s go to the main content of today’s post though: a short comment on how useable I found ZOHO Projects for our task. For a more detailed description of the teamroom, you may read my last post.

As Yves has written in his post, we (Damien, Tino, Yves and myself) experienced some difficulties getting started which partly resulted from my assumption that ZOHO would be totally integrated throughout the different features. I logged in on the main site, assuming ZOHO would be smart enough the then show me the Project Stefanie had assigned until finally I figured out I had to log in at ZOHO Projects and not ZOHO.

Having had a physical meeting where we had discussed the idea of our article, work in our Teamroom organized itself with some of our members taking over different responsibilities. I thought it necessary to update meetings and assigning the tasks we had previously discussed; Yves kept good care of our – let’s call it – database (of documents). Damien and Tino organized the research, where ZOHO Writer proved to be the best feature. Yves had opened a document and given it a structure to collect data from the research which built the foundation for our article.

In conclusion I can only recommend working with ZOHO. Some features were (for our task) more useful than others (see my last post) and we could have – as Yves implicitly stated very correctly – made better use of some other features (i.e. “Users”) but I am really content about this first experience with a Teamroom and shan’t miss it.
